Yahoo is a directory. A human will review your Yahoo submission. It generally takes anywhere from 4 weeks to 6 months for a site to be included into the directory, depending largely upon the category to which you submit.
In order to submit at Yahoo, go to the category in which your site belongs and click on the "Suggest A Site" link at the bottom of that page. In order to figure out which
category is suitable, you might want to type the name of a site that belongs to a competitor or someone who offers similar product. Once you see where they are, go to that category and submit. The registration
process with Yahoo! is complicated and time consuming. However, you must register with Yahoo if you want to maintain a serious Web presence. They will not accept your submission if you send it from the wrong
category page on their site.
Provide a brief, concise and content related summary description. Don't repeat keywords appearing on the category you're submitting to. The title Yahoo will use is the valid name of
your or domain, or something reasonably close.
Resubmit after 30 days or so if your submission didn't get listed. If you've followed this advice and the site still doesn't appear after a three attempts, e-mail url-support@yahoo-inc.com for assistance. You must send the exact URL that you submitted, but you do not need to send the categories you submitted to or the actual dates you submitted on.
The best strategy is to see things from the point of view of the directory. Decide why Yahoo's searchers would benefit from your site being listed there and then submit using that
information.
If you are really having trouble getting in, and if your site qualifies, then you might consider paying them via Business Express Service to get in.
If you pay BES $199, your site will be reviewed within seven days. They will not guarantee a listing for this money, but they will tell you what you need to do in order to get a
listing.
If Yahoo doesn't find relevant listings in its directory, it reverts to Inktomi's database. Due to that fact, you will want to be sure to be listed in Inktomi. The easiest way to
accomplish this is to submit at HotBot.
