Once again, the search engine world has been turned upside down and shaken.

On July 26, AltaVista announced that it had signed a deal making LookSmart its exclusive directory source.

Not that long ago, AltaVista had to pay LookSmart. Last October, AltaVista jumped ship and began using ODP's free data. Well, LookSmart, having changed its business model once again, has now, according to various sources, begun paying AltaVista to use its information.
